Any author can submit an article to the journal. Typically, this is a person who is in correspondence with the Editorial Board and who gets the notification emails (when submitting a manuscript via the website, you can choose the possibility to send notifications to all authors).
The author is registered on the site, entering the full name and filling in all fields. The author chooses the username and password that will be used to login.
The single file ''Cover Letter'' combines information on the article. It comprises the following sections:
2. Information on conflict of interest/funding
The document contains a disclosure by authors of possible relations with industrial and financial institutions that could lead to a conflict of interest in connection with submitted in the manuscripts material. It is advisable to list the sources of the work funding. If there is no conflict of interest, you should write down: ''Conflict of interest is not declared''
3. Information and adherence to ethical standards when conducting the research
Example:
The study was carried out in accordance with the standards of Good Clinical Practice and the principles of the Declaration of Helsinki. The study protocol was approved by the ethics committees of all participating clinical centers. Prior to inclusion in the study we received written informed consent from all participants.
4. Information on the overlapping publications (if available).
''Cover letter'' should be issued on one or two sheets using the official letterhead of the institution (at the option of authors). The appeal: ''the Chief Editor of the Siberian Medical Review Protopopov A. V.''. Signatures of all authors and/or authorized person's signature should be below and the seal of the institution from which the article is sent should also be below. ''Cover letter'' should be scanned. You should attach the file in jpeg or pdf as an additional file of the manuscript.
To form a title page of a manuscript, the author must specify the data first in Russian, then in English (for articles in English it is not necessary to create a title page in Russian)
The title of the manuscript should contain up to 12 words, including the main keywords. An abbreviation and formulas can not be used. It must be written in capital letters, without hyphenation, in bold, using left alignment, single spacing, 14 font.
The surnames of the author and co-authors without the indication of academic degrees and positions are located under the title of the article. The order of the authors' mention depends on their contribution to the work done. Align to the left, printed in Times New Roman font, 12 pt. In the list of authors first initials are indicated (with a space between them), then the author's surname.
Footnotes are given in Arabic figures after the names of the authors.
The name of the institution is put in its full version, without abbreviations, it must coincide with the name in the Regulations. The adding to the main name of the institution (the State Higher Educational Institution of Higher Professional Education, etc.) and the founder (Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, etc.) should not be written, leaving only the name of the organization that isn’t changed. Next, a city, the postal code and the country, separated by a comma. Brackets, quotes are not put. Each organization is written from a new line without indentation. Footnotes are given in Arabic numerals before the name of the institution. For the correctness of the information provided, we recommend the authors to check the English spelling of the institution name on the site https://grid.ac.
If the author (s) has (have) several job places, then they are listed line by line. At the end the point is not used.
For the title of the section "Author information" clarendon is used in the center 12 pt.
Author information contains the full name (in full in the following sequence: name, patronymic, surname, in the English-speaking version, first name, initial of patronymic, surname) and affiliation of authors (position, academic degree, title), full names of institutions (without legal form and founder, without quotes), postal address of the institution, phone and e-mail of EACH of the co-authors. ORCID - it is desirable.
If there is no ORCID number, you must obtain it by registering at https://orcid.org/.
ORCID is a register of unique identifiers of scientists and at the same time an appropriate method linking research activity with these identifiers.
The order of authors' mention as in the title.
In case of full name transliteration the author must adhere to the uniform writing in all articles.
The data is located in width according to the main text in italics, the font Times New Roman 12 pt, one and a half interval.
The title page should contain information in Russian and English (for English-language articles translation into Russian is not needed).
Example of the title page (doc)
The text format of the manuscript. The text should be typed in Times New Roman font, size - 12 pt, line spacing - 1.5 pt. Indents on each side of the page are 2 cm. Allocations in the text are allowed ONLY in italics or in semi-bold, but NOT with underlines.
To download the manuscript to the site, the author prepares the following documents in separate files:
It is unacceptable to use unfair textual borrowing and assigning research results that do not protect the authors of the submitted manuscript. To check the article for originality one can do with the help of services https://www.antiplagiat.ru/, https://www.etxt.ru. (for Russian-language texts) and http://www.plagiarism.org/ (for English texts).
In order to ensure the quality of published materials and the observance of copyright, all articles arriving at the editorial office of the journal are checked for plagiarism (the availability of borrowings) through the Antiplagiat.VUZ system and only after that are sent for peer review.
Articles containing less than 70% of the unique text are not published in the journal. The editorial board does not welcome the excessive number of citations, even if properly designed. The permissible volume of citations established by the editors is not more than 30% of the total volume of the article.
The papers, have published in other publications or have sent to the other editions can not be directed to the Editorial Staff.
1. The UDC index is placed in the upper left corner of the file.
2. The title of the article is located at the top center of the page, printed by capital letters, in semi-bold, Times New Roman, 14 pt, single line spacing, maximum length of three lines, no more than 12 words, without unusual abbreviations. At the end of the title the point is not set. It is issued in Russian and English (Russian translation is not required for articles in English).
3. The abstract is a part of the main manuscript file. The abstract should not repeat the text of the article (you can not take sentences from an article and transfer them to a resume), as well as its title. It should not contain tables, text footnotes. The abstract should set out the essential facts of the work, and should not contain material that is missing in the article itself. In the text of the abstract should be used the syntactic structures inherent in the language of scientific and technical documents, avoid complex grammatical constructions. The text of the abstract should be laconic, clear, with persuasive phrases, lack of background information. Depending on the selected section of the journal, there are:
3.1. Structured abstract (1500-2000 characters):
The subject, purpose of the work are indicated.
The method or methodology of the work in terms of novelty is described.
Described extremely accurately and informatively. The main theoretical and experimental results, actual data, discovered relationships and regularities are presented. At the same time, preference is given to new results, important discoveries, conclusions that refute existing theories, as well as data of practical importance.
Can be accompanied by recommendations, estimates, suggestions, hypotheses, described in the article.
The names of the abstract sections are written from a new line without indentation in semi-bold, italic 12 pt, at the end a dot is put. The abstract should contain only those sections that are described in the Rules for authors. For example, the section "Actuality" does not appear in the abstract. The authors prescribe the actuality of their work in the introductory section of the manuscript.
3.2 Unstructured abstract (400-800 characters depending on the section - see "Selecting a section"):
The title «Abstract» in an unstructured abstract is written from a new line without an indent insemi-bold, italic 12 pt, in the end the point is put.
Example:
Abstract. Теxt.
It is pointed out that this document bears the new in itself in comparison with others related to the topic and purpose.
4. Keywords contain 6-8 words and phrases, express the main semantic content of the article, serve as a guide for the reader. Are posted after the abstract, in Russian and English. Should reflect the discipline (the field of science, within the framework of which the article is written), the topic, the purpose, the object of research.
When publishing keywords through the site, you must select the "Keywords" option, write words / phrases separated by commas.
5. The text of the article. The structure of the original scientific article (the text of the remaining sections may not be structured):
Introduction- sets goals and objectives, gives a critical assessment of literature.
Materials and methods - a detailed description of the work.
Discussion and results - an explanation of the results is given and their significance is shown.
Conclusion - the main conclusions are drawn.
The title of the sections of the article is bolded in Times New Roman, 12 pt, in the center without a dot.
The text is printed on an A4 sheet, the font size is 12 pt, the interval between the lines is 1.5, the margins are 2 cm from all sides.
When processing material, the system of SI units is used, the % character is put in a space from the number, the value of p is written with a comma: p <0,0001; the value of n is written with a small letter (n = 20); signs>, <, ±, =, +, - with numerical values are written without a space; the meaning of "year" or "years" is drawn up - 2014 or 2002-2014.
The article must be carefully verified by the author (s). Responsibility for the correctness of citations, doses and other factual materials are borne by the authors.
Statistics
All published materials are reviewed by a statistician and must comply with the "Uniform Requirements for Manuscripts Submitted to Biomedical Journals." Ann Intern Med. 1997; 126: 36-47. In the preparation of the statistical part of the work, it is recommended to use special guidelines, for example, the European Cardiology Journal:
www.oxfordjournals.org/our_journals/eurheartj/for_authors/stat_guide.html
Statistical methods are described in detail in the section '' Materials and Methods ''.
Mathematical formulas.
Mathematical equations should be represented as editable text, and not as images.
Simple formulas should be written to a string in plain text, where possible, using the slash (/) character, instead of a horizontal line for small fractional expressions, for example, X / Y. Variables should be expressed in italics. The powers of e are better denoted as exp. Equations located separately from the text (if this is clearly indicated in the text) should be numbered in order. The formulas are centered. The number is indicated on the right side of the sheet (in parentheses). The upper and lower symbols must be clearly legible. In formulas, fractional numbers, there should be a comma, and not a point (for example, 0,5). Formulas must be typed in the built-in formula editor MS Word (Equation 3.0) or in the editor Math Type 4.0.
Making graphs, schemes, tables and figures
Tables.
It should be formatted as editable text, and not as images. For each table, a reference should be provided next to the corresponding text in the article.
The tables should be illustrative, corresponding to the content of the graph. All figures, total and percent data in the tables are to be carefully verified by the author and should match the figures in the text.
Tables should be sequentially numbered according to their appearance in the text. All notes are placed under the tables. The data presented in the tables should not repeat the results described elsewhere in the article. When building a table, vertical rulers should be avoided.
All table names and captions following them, should be repeated by English varient.
The table number (for example, Table 2) is indicated on the right side of the page, on the next line in the center its name is written in semi-bold, single interval. If the table in the text is one, then the table number is not written.
The dimensions of the indicators and the form of the data representation (M ± m; M ± SD; Me; Mo; percents, etc.) should be clearly indicated in the tables. All figures, totals and percentages must be carefully verified, and also correspond to their mention in the text.
Explanatory notes are provided below the table if necessary.
The footnotes should be listed in the following order: *, †, §, ||, ¶, #, **, ††, etc. Abbreviations should be listed in the footnote below the table in alphabetical order. Each first mention of a picture or table in the text is highlighted with a yellow marker. If a reference to a drawing or table is included in the sentence, the full spelling of the word is used - '' figure 1 '', '' table 1 ''; if the words are enclosed in parentheses, a reduction is used - (Fig. 1), (Tab. 1).
Drawings (photographs, graphs, diagrams, schemes, draughts and other illustrations) should be clear, in black and white format. Each image is presented in a separate file. For each of the drawings, a reference is required in the text.
These files are indicated as additional files. Figures should not repeat the materials of the tables.
Times New Roman font should be used in the image.
The images in the text should be numbered sequentially.
Each drawing is to be accompanied by a short Russian and English legend, which along with drawing indications, should be sufficient for understanding the information, presented in the figure, without reading the text of the article.
All the drawings should be original. Publication of borrowed drawings is possible only with the consent of the right holders.
For detailed instructions on submitting electronic graphics, see: http://www.elsevier.com/artworkinstructions:
Attention: it is necessary to send acceptable black-and-white versions of all coloured images as well, as there may be certain technical difficulties while converting coloured images into achromatic ones (for printed version: if coloured printing is not selected).
Photos of potentially recognizable people should be represented using the method of deidentification.
Electronic graphic images (photographs, screenshots) and other non-drawn illustrations.
Each image is presented in a separate file.
Detailed instructions for presenting electronic graphics images see: http://www.elsevier.com/artworkinstructions
Regardless of the application used, other than Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), after the creation of the electronic image, it should be converted to JPEG, JPG, PDF (300 dpi - 600 dpi). The graphics files must be a JPEG, JPG format with the correct allowance. The author should specify preferences for color image: in printed or only in electronic form. For more information on preparing an electronic graphic image, see: http://www.elsevier.com/artworkinstructions
Attention: it is necessary to send acceptable black-and-white versions of all color images in addition, as there may be certain technical difficulties in the process of converting color images to achromatic ones (for a printed version: if color printing is not selected).
Thankfulness (if any)
The authors can express their gratitude to the participants and / or organizations that contributed to the publication of the article in the journal, but are not its co-authors.
Information about sponsorship (if any). If necessary, the source of funding for both the scientific work and the publication process of the article (fund, commercial or state organization, private person, etc.) is indicated. The amount of funding is not required.
The journal "Siberian Medical Review" uses the Vancouver citation style (in the list of references citations are numbered not in alphabetical order, but as far as they are mentioned in the text, regardless of the language on which the work is given). The text refers to the ordinal number of the cited work in square brackets [1] or [1, 2]. Each citation in the list – should be from a new line. All documents referred to in the text should be included in the list of references.
Do not allowed to refer to papers that are not included in the list of references, and vice versa, to unpublished papers. Do not allowed to refer to unpublished, retracted (withdrawn from the printing) articles. Self-citation is not permissible, except the cases when it is necessary (in the review of the literature, no more than 3 to 5 references). Do not allowed to refer to the dissertations, as well as the abstracts of dissertations, it is more correct to refer to the articles published on the basis of dissertational research.
Documents (Orders, GOSTs, Health Regulations, Methodological Guidelines, Regulations, Resolutions, Sanitary and Epidemiological Rules, Norms, Federal Laws) should be indicated not in the lists of literature, but in footnotes in the text. In the bibliographic description the names of ALL authors are given.
All Russian-language sources of literature should be presented in a transliterated version according to the sample below. It is necessary to include DOI in the bibliographic descriptions in the lists of literature.
The index should be searched in the Crossref database.
Taking into account the requirements of international citation systems, bibliographic lists are included in the English-language article block and, accordingly, should be given not only in the original language, but also in Latin (Roman alphabet). Therefore, the authors of the articles should give a list of literature in two versions: one in the original language (Russian-language sources in Cyrillic, English-language - Latin), and as a separate block the same list of literature (References) in the Roman alphabet for international databases.
Transliteration of Russian-language sources using official encodings is given in the following order: the authors and the name of the journal are transliterated by the Latin alphabet, and the title of the article is a semantic transliteration (translated into English). The source name is shown in italics.
The technology of preparing the citation using the automatic transliteration system and the translator:
- on the site http://www.translit.ru one can use the program of transliteration of the Russian text into the Latin alphabet.
- it is necessary to choose the BGN transliteration system (Board of Geographic Names); in the special field the text of the bibliography is entered, except for the title of the book or article, in Russian and the "translit" button is pressed.
- at the end of the reference in parentheses is indicated (in Russian).
ATTENTION! From the first issue of 2018, the Siberian Medical Review journal introduces a variant of the preparation in a single “Reference” united links to Russian-language sources, consisting of a description in Cyrillic (in the original language) and in Latin (according to the presentation rules). The English-language part of the bibliographic description of the reference should be directly after the Russian-language part in square brackets ([...]). At the end of the bibliographic description (behind the square bracket), doi articles are placed, if any. At the very end of the English-language part of the bibliographic description, reference to the original publication language (In Russian) is placed in the parentheses.
The links to foreign sources remain unchanged.
For example:
The list of references should correspond to the format recommended by the National Information Standards Organisation – NISO, accepted by National Library of Medicine (NLM) for databases (Library’s MEDLINE/PubMed database) NLM: http://www. nlm.nih.gov/citingmedicine
The names of periodicals should be given in full form.
The full name of the foreign journal one can be found on NLM Catalog: Journals referenced in the NCBI Databases and Index Medicuss.
The list of references is made in accordance with international standards to improve the "visibility" and "accessibility" of the journal to the world scientific community and conform to the formats used in global citation indexes.
The heading "References" is located in the center of the page and is printed in lower case semi-bold 12 pt.
Examples of reference design:
Journal Articles
In the bibliographic description the names of ALL authors are given.
The names of periodicals should be given in full form, in italics.
In the title of the journals in English, each word should be written with a capital letter
